Please note that the current lottery for this year is entitled DV-2021, which stands for the year when all winners will be able to enter the U.S.A, starting with January 2021. All winners are required to submit all relevant immigration forms and conduct a green card interview at the nearest Embassy.

There are countries whose residents cannot participate in this program for this year:

Canada China (mainland only)
India Colombia
Dominican Republic El Salvador
Haiti Jamaica
Peru Philippines
Pakistan Vietnam
Mexico Nigeria
South Korea United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland)


This main requirement for the USA DIVERSITY Visa Lottery is that you must be either a foreign citizen not born in the U.S.A and also from a country with a low rate of immigration rate into the United States. Any citizens born in such Countries with a high US IMMIGRATION rate will be removed from this program. The table above depicts all countries which are currently excluded from this lottery. It is important to note that eligibility for this program is only determined by country of birth, regardless of your current residence or country of citizenship.

Applicants born in any other countries may register for the U.S.A Permanent Residence Card (Green Card in this case), provided that they also meet the second eligibility requirement which will be explained below.

It is highly important to note, that in the case that you have been born in one of the non-qualifying countries, you may still be eligible to participate in the US Diversity Visa Lottery, by using the country of birth of your parents or spouse.

In the case of United Kingdom applicants, the following areas are dependent: Anguilla, Bermuda, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, etc etc Please note that Northern Ireland does not qualify.

All Natives born in Hong King SAR, Macau SAR or Taiwan can participate in the DV-2021. Natives born in the Gaza Strip are chargeable to Egypt, please use this as your country of birth.

2. NUMBER TWO REQUIREMENT : Education and work experience

The number two most vital requirements is that the applicant must comply with one of the options below :


Education: It is highly important that the applicant has completed a highschool education, either in his native country or a U.S Highschool: a formal twelve year course of either elementary and secondary education in the U.S or equivalent of this in your native country. Passage of any equivalency examination is not sufficient, and this must be completed in full.


Employment: The applicant must have been employed in any one of the following occupations for the last two years, within the last five years. CLICK HERE TO CHECK ELLIGIBLE OCCUPATIONS

Although you will not have to submit any proof of satisfying these requirements when you enter the USA diversity visa lottery, you will be obliged to provide all necessary documentation to a consular officer if your name has been selected in the draw and once you apply for permanent resident.

If you do not meet the two requirements explained above, you should not apply for a permanent residence through this program, since you will be automatically disqualified. Proof you will need to provide will be for: education, employment and native country. Because you do not have to provide such documentation in the primary stage, we will not request this of you on your application form.
